Top Tips for Your First BBQ Boat Hire Experience

Blog

Hiring a BBQ boat is an excellent way to celebrate special occasions, or to enjoy a day out with family and friends. As the name suggests, these boats feature the space and facilities to enjoy a BBQ while lulling on open water. You can hire them for either a day or a half day, allowing you to tailor the experience to your time constraints.

Decide who will share the responsibilities before setting out

Nobody wants to feel as though they're the person taking charge of the steering or the BBQing without any help. Before setting off, determine who's happy to share these responsibilities and pitch in accordingly. That way, everyone takes part in the fun without feeling as though they're a dogsbody.

Plan for heat-related eventualities

Hopefully, your first BBQ boat hire experience will take place on a gloriously sunny day. While it's tempting to revel in the sunshine without a care in the world, this can come with consequences. Many boats come with a set amount of drinking water, but you may want to take more if there are lots of children or old people on board. In addition, put on sunscreen and plan to stay out of the sun when it's at its hottest.

Take a realistic approach to food

Few experiences will put a dampener on your day more than finding yourself short on food while you're out at sea. Plan your BBQ boat experience in the same way that you would plan a garden party. Things to consider include:

  • Alternative food for those with dietary requirements, such as gluten-free and vegan options
  • Enough food per head
  • Extras for unexpected guests
  • Side dishes and snacks to keep people going before everything is ready
  • Drinks to suit all tastes

While you don't want to overburden yourself, it is better to have too much than to have guests going hungry.

Make sure guests RSVP promptly

Due to safety requirements, there are limits to the number of people you can squeeze onto each boat. As such, you should plan the event well in advance and encourage people to RSVP promptly. If you're feeling super organised, hire a slightly larger boat than you need, just in case there are any last-minute plus one requests.

As an alternative to a BBQ, why not consider pontoon hire? As an alternative event space, floating pontoons are excellent for wedding receptions and other special occasions where you're aiming to wow your guests.

Motor Sports and Equipment for Beginners and Kids

Hi, my name is Danny. I have been a keen supporter of motor sports for years. I've ridden for fun as well as in a few competitive races. Now, unfortunately, I don't get to ride as much as I like. I am busy running a graphic design company and chasing my two kids and a dog. However, I know that my little ones are quickly getting old enough to explore the world of motor sports with me. To prepare, I decided to start a blog. Here, I am going to post on everything you need to get a child interested in motor sports, and I may include a few posts on motor sport accessories and ideas for the adult beginner as well.
